Why this exists

In July 2025, wildfire reached our village in Souni.

I had sample protection equipment at the house at the time. We used it. My home survived, and so did the houses surrounding us.

The equipment was not the hard part. The hard part was not knowing it was coming until it was close enough to see.

Hephaestus Fire Monitor is the warning I wanted that day, built so that other people get it.

How it works

Mark what matters

Your home, your land, your parents’ house. Choose how far around each one you want us watching — from 25 km up to the whole of Europe.

We watch, continuously

Satellite heat detection runs day and night. Prescribed burns and industrial heat are filtered out before anything reaches you.

You get the details

Not just that something is burning. How far away, how intense, and how much closer it has come since we last told you. Push and email, within 30 minutes of detection.

What you get

Distance and intensity

Every alert tells you how far the fire is and how much energy it is releasing, so you can judge it yourself.

Only what is near you

Alerts are tied to the area you chose. Nothing from the other side of the country.

False alarms filtered out

Agricultural burns, flares and industrial heat are separated from real wildfire before you are told about it.

Travel mode

Away from home, alerts follow where you actually are, not only the addresses you saved.

Reaches you when the app is shut

Push notification and email together. You do not have to be watching a screen.

Works on any device

Android app on Google Play. On iPhone, it installs to your home screen from Safari.

Knowing is the first half

An alert buys you time. What you do with it is the other half.

We build wildfire protection equipment for homes, farms and industrial sites: CE-marked portable fire pumps, long-range water cannons and roof sprinkler systems. The same equipment that saved our house in Souni.

Fire Monitor is an early-warning tool, not a guarantee. It relies on public satellite data that can be delayed, incomplete or inaccurate, and it is not a substitute for official emergency services or your own judgement. In an emergency, call 112.
